Military Lines

Welcome to Military Lines!

Welcome to Military Lines. This is  Melanie Lines,  Blue Star Mom of  two military sons, Airman Chris and Army MP Devon. Both my boys are currently in the process of completing all their training and for the time being are stationed stateside.

I have set up categories for each of the boys, (I should stop calling them that) to post when they get time or have a need to express themselves. If you are family or friend or a fellow blue star parent please feel free to comment on any post. Note;  I will have to OK your first post so please be patient, after that you will be free to post comments as often as you wish.

Their father Tom & I, are very excited but a bit apprehensive about the future of our young men, not just ours but all those stepping up to defend this great nation.. We know God is in charge and He has a plan for each of us, we must trust that things will work to his desire.

We hope you enjoy visiting our little piece of the Internet and will check in occasionally, until then . . .

Chris & Devon….wow, what great looking military men! It is amazing what a uniform does to you both! We hope that all is well with you and that you are being watched over. We love you both! Steve & Carol

Dear Tom and Mel, Chris & Taryn, and Devon,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. There hasn’t been active military duty in this family since Grandpa Lines served in World War II. Tanner, Dan’s son, is serving in the guard and has just been assigned deployment, requiring his mission to be deferred for a year. Our prayers are actively in your behalf. Please know of the love we each have for you. Love, Uncle Garry and Aunt LaNell

So my Mom has been getting on me since I returned from training to finally post something, so here it is!

My adventure started in March 2010 when I enlisted and shipped out less than two weeks later. I know it was hard on my parents for me to one day decide I wanted to enlist and the next week be shipping out. A lot of people say “Why’d you do it? What made you enlist? Was it the video games like Call of Duty and all the movies out there that glorify war?” Well to tell you the truth I’m sure those things do make war seem cool, but thats not …
